Green Hills Scholarship – 2017

Each year, high school seniors whose parent or legal guardians are telephone, Internet, or Skitter TV customers of Green Hills Communications have the opportunity to win up to $2,500 in scholarships. This scholarship is sponsored in part by Green Hills Communications and the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS). If an entry from our area is not chosen for the $2,500 FRS scholarship, then Green Hills performs their own judging and chooses a student for a $500 college scholarship

John Autry, son of Hector and Sue Autry of Norborne, is this year’s $500 college scholarship recipient. Green Hill’s Board President, David Misel, presented John with the $500 check and wished him well in his future endeavors. John plans on attending Central Methodist University where he will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology. Green Hills would also like to wish John a bright and prosperous future.

Information on the 2018 scholarship will be mailed to area schools during the month of December 2017. Parents, legal guardians, and students are more than welcome to contact our office at 660-644-5411 and speak to Sherryl Garcia for additional information or can learn more about scholarship amounts, requirements and past recipients by visiting the Foundation for Rural Service’s website.
